The Linnaean Gardens of Uppsala

The Botanical Garden is one of the most popular sights in Uppsala, with a magnificent baroque garden, a 200 years old orangery and the only rainforest in Uppsala!

The modern botanical garden is situated by Uppsala Castle and house more than 7,000 plant species. Straight paths, well-tended flowerbeds and pruned hedges meet visitors to the baroque garden. In spring the lawns and flower borders are filled with blooming bulbs and tubers. The orangery is part of the building Linneanum, where the splendid Linnaeus hall is a sought after location for weddings and festivities. A popular garden café and the Tropical greenhouse with a unique collection of saintpaulias are situated in the heart of the garden. Nearby visitors can explore a diversity of plants, displays of magnolias, a kitchen garden, perennial borders and an arboretum.
